Engine and Transmission

Sorry I have been busy...here is the latest news. The engine went in about two weeks ago, along with the transimisson. It was a family afair we were all out there watching to make sure that the engine didn't hit the frame or other little "things". None of us, except for dad, knew what to call anything, so you heard a lot of "the thing is going to hit that thing." It was pretty funny. It was a big step. When we went up to Utah for Thanksgiving we took the fuel tank up with us and had it welded. It turned out very nicely.

THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE HERE!!

Sorry, I am way late in posting this but...on August 21 at 1:30 PM, a guy Greg named delivered the engine and transmission and it was AWESOME. (or so I am told...I wasn't there) Neither, the engine nor the transimission have been installed, but it is looking good.

The Body and Dad

This I don't really understand. But apparently the body has to be put on to do some work and then taken off again. I don't see why you can't wait until everything is done and then put it on, but whatever. I mean, the body still has to be painted, but I trust my dad 100%. Also, I posted dad with all of his gear on...I though it looked funny.

Aluminum Paneling

The aluminum panels were fitted in place and all of the holes were drilled and it now has taken on some real shape. At first, to me it just looked like a big hunk of metal with other little pieces of metal stuck on. But now, WOW, it really is starting to look like a car.

Front Suspension and Shocks

The front suspension has been installed and the shocks as well. It took only about 5 hours. The two colors are silver and blue and they look great, don't they? There was a lot of little pieces that went into installing it.

IT'S HERE! IT'S HERE!

At 12:51 the truck from Stewart Transport rolled up and I immediately began freaking out!! First of all, because my dad wasn't home yet from work and I had to go open the garage. Second, the truck was huge and loud...I heard it for about a full 30 seconds before I saw it. Scott, the truck driver/delivery dude was great he was funny and really cool. As you can see, there was an AWESOME crane used to lift the body out of the truck onto the dolley. I have never seen something so amazing, there were 31 boxes, I, of course go to check of the boxes as they were unloaded. It still is so unreal that there is a lego car on a huge scale out in our garage!! Crazy, I know, right...but still incredibly cool. Now that it is here, my dad has to go get it powdered coated in the bright, unreal, metallic blue (like the 5 gum wrapper). It is gonna be awesome.

Clever Colors

The chosen color is a brilliant metallic blue, words can't do justice so buy a pack of Cobalt 5 Gum. It is amazing...

The Phone Call

My dad just got the phone call from the truck driver, Scott confirming drop off tommorrow around noon. Once it comes and he starts working on it there will be some cool pix and posts.

The Shed

My Dad built a shed to store all of his wood working tools in the garage, so that we have room for the car. It's on the side of the house and looks pretty good doesn't it. It took only about two weeks to build.

Love Story meets Viva la Vida

This is one of my dad's favorite videos to watch. My mom found this video and we all love it. Just because your probably a hot rod jocky, doesn't mean you can't listen to some piano music. Take a few minutes to unwind and watch an AWESOME video!!
